Sweetcorn Cottage will be a perfect home away from home. Warm and cosy with stunning views over the farm and out to the distant mountains, this cottage is ideal for two couples or a family of up to seven. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and a single while the second bedroom sleeps up to four in a double bed and bunks.
Enjoy lighting the wood heater and curling up in the wonderfully comfortable couch or sip a cool drink while sitting on the verandah and watching the light fade over the land. The kids will be happy as we feed our friendly farm animals each morning — you are welcome to join in, or you are free to wander and meet them at any time. Sweetcorn Cottage is located approximately 50m from Brickendon’s World Heritage Farm Village so make the time to explore the buildings of the village and also meander along the Brickendon and Woolmers Convict Farm Walk to Woolmers Estate (50 minutes one way). Time is also needed to wander the Heritage Gardens of Brickendon a short walk from your cottage. Fabulous 180-year-old trees provide a wonderful backdrop to the delightful gardens and Georgian homestead.
Sweetcorn is located alongside Pea in a Pod Cottage; Pumpkin Cottage is next door again. If you have a group travelling — these cottages are ideal as you will all be able to enjoy separate cottages alongside each other. Gas barbecues are supplied so perhaps you could wander down to the Macquarie River (200m) and catch a trout for dinner (seasonal dates and licences apply) or maybe pick up a delicious local steak from our Longford butchers and enjoy some of Tasmania’s finest produce.
Features
Sweetcorn Cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with oven/stove, small fridge, microwave, tea and coffee facilities, cutlery and crockery, and a bathroom with all linen and a shower over a high step allowing little ones to be bathed after a busy day on the farm. A wood heater in the lounge and electric heaters and blankets will keep you warm and cosy and the verandah is the ideal spot for a glass of Tasmanian wine after a day of enjoying Northern Tasmania’s delights. Hearty breakfast provisions are included.
